George Dyer

After making his professional debut at the Lincoln Center with New York City Opera, George has since performed all over the world in operas, oratorios and concerts, including several guest appearances with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Having also starred in videos and made-for-tv concerts, in 2010 he opened “The George Dyer Show” in Branson, MO to critical acclaim and was awarded “Branson’s Best Male Vocalist in 2010 and 2012. Anna Mooy

Anna received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in voice from BYU, Provo, and did doctoral study at the University of Minnesota, where she studied with Glenda Maurice. She has received many honors, including Regional Finalist for the Metropolitan Opera Auditions on two occasions. She has also performed with many of the world’s finest choral organizations including the Dale Warland Singers, VocalEsssence and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir; both as choral member and soloist. Performances with other organizations include the Minnesota Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the Utah Symphony, among many others. She has been on the voice faculties of St. Olaf College, Bemidji State University, Brigham Young University, Provo, and BYU Hawaii.

Sabina Thatcher

Sabina came to Minnesota in 1989 as principal violist for the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, a position she held for 22 years. She was a soloist with the SPCO on numerous occasions, performing a wide variety of repertoire. She is an artist-faculty member at the Aspen Music Festival and School and the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University. She was a finalist at the Naumberg International Viola Competition and has performed solo recitals locally and nationally. Before coming to St. Paul, she graduated from the Eastman School of Music with distinction and a Performer’s Certificate and went on to study with Lillian Fuchs at the Julliard School.

Gabriel Preisser

Gabriel Preisser, lyric baritone, is described as having “a matinee idol’s charm and charisma.” He excels not only in the classical repertoire but is especially noted for his work in musical theater, operetta, and contemporary works. He maintains a very active performance schedule throughout the US with over 35 roles in his repertoire and several debuts upcoming. www.gabrielpreisser.com .

Laurel Armstrong

Laurel is a singer, actor and voice-over artist from the Twin Cities. Locally she has performed with The Flying Foot Forum, Theater Latte Da, Skylark Opera, Nautilus Music Theater, Workhouse Collective, Girl Friday Productions, Actor’s Theater of MN and Bloomington Civic Theater. Nationally she has performed with Sesame Street Live and internationally at Universal Studios Japan. She studied musical theater at Brigham Young University.

Gail Bennett

Gail played Mary Poppins over 100 times on the First National Tour and Regional Premiere and appeared in the Las Vegas and Hollywood Bowl companies of The Producers. Gail has starred in shows at many of the best regional theatres in the country from Maine to California. Credits include: Eliza in My Fair Lady, opposite Tony winner Jefferson Mays, Maria in The Sound of Music, Janet in The Drowsy Chaperone, Irene in Hello, Dolly, Betty in Sunset Boulevard, Claudia in NINE, Marian Paroo in The Music Man opposite Davis Gains. Gail has also starred in several feature films and on television. Her most treasured roles are Wife to Aaron and Mother to Lydia.

Michael Sackett

Michael has performed and recorded with Rob Gardner and Spire Music for over 14 years, and played the role of John in the original recording of Lamb of God. He currently lives in Mesa, AZ and runs a music nonprofit called INSPIRE: music.service.hope. Michael was a member of BYU’s Young Ambassadors and Vocal Point, and recently released his first solo album titled, Michael Sackett. inspiremusicservicehope.org/

Dr. Clifton Ware is an internationally known vocal pedagogue, master teacher, tenor soloist and author.

Teresa Tierney

a. Lyric Soprano Teresa Tierney’s versatility makes her equally at home on the concert stage or in recital. A warm and engaging soloist, highlights include performances of Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Cantata No. 84, and Brahm’s Ein Deutches Requiem. Ms. Tierney has been a soloist for the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Rochester Choral Arts Ensemble, and with the noted pianist, Ruth Palmer. Her diverse musical background includes study in piano, music theory and composition, in addition to vocal performance.

“Schola” is short for Schola Cantorum, the Latin term for a school or group of people who join together to learn and sing ecclesial chant, the song of the church. It is a choir, but one dedicated to the ancient chant tradition– although that’s not the only music they sing.

We are the St Cloud, Minnesota Chapter in the Land O’Lakes District of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). The chorus is made up of men from Central and Western Minnesota and Wisconsin; men from all walks of life and gentlemen in their 20s and older. The chorus was founded in 1968 and throughout our more than forty years of harmony and fellowship the St Cloud Singing Saints Barbershop Chorus has entertained and thrilled audiences all over Minnesota.

SMC is a community choir serving the south suburban communities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. The chorale provides a broad spectrum of experiences and repertoire, including accompanied and a cappella music of the great masters, American folk music and African American spirituals. Jazz, Broadway, and popular arrangements are also presented at our annual “Cabaret” fundraiser.
